Design Workshop One:
Kwinana Freeway to Bibra Drive

South Metro Connect invites you to attend the first of three design workshops. The first workshop will focus on the section of road from Kwinana Freeway to Bibra Drive. This will include the southern connection to the Murdoch Activity Centre including Fiona Stanley Hospital.

Gaye Gelok, Community and Stakeholder Engagement Manager for South Metro Connect says:

“I am very excited about this design workshop. The workshop is designed to allow both a structured and open space workshop approach occurring in parallel. This means we can gather the information about community needs as well as allow the community to come and go to meet their availability. We encourage the community to get involved in the workshop to have their say. The aim of the workshop is to identify community needs and opportunities to influence the design outcome. The workshops will provide an opportunity for community members to discuss the design with technical experts, stakeholders and other members of the community.”

The first workshop will be repeated in a morning and evening session:

  • on Saturday 6 March, 9.00am-1:00pm and repeated on
  • Monday 8 March, 5.15pm-9.00pm
  • at Willetton Sports Club, Willetton.

Registration is required for the structured component of this workshop. The structured component will be a seated workshop with limited places, so please register early. Registrations close on Wednesday 3 March at 12 noon. To register, call 1800 132 572.

If you are not able to commit 3 of your valuable hours we invite you to partake in our open space component of the workshop. Multi Criteria Analysis Workshop Results!

On Friday 19 February, South Metro Connect held a Multi Criteria Analysis (MCA) Workshop at Willetton Sports Centre. Approximately 64 community members and stakeholders from local, private and federal organisations attended the workshop including secondary students from Murdoch College and Hamilton Senior High School.

The South Metro Connect team would like to thank the participants in the workshop for their excellent contributions to a most successful day.

72% of participants who filled out an evaluation form (37 in total) were satisfied with the proceedings of the workshop.

The workshop produced productive and collaborative debate on social, economic and environmental criteria and characteristics associated with the development.

The raw data from the workshop has now been compiled and is available by clicking here. Alternatively, the results are available for view at our Blackly Row office.

When asked about the results, Abra De Klerk, South Metro Connect Project Director, said:

“The data we have received from the workshop is in very preliminary stages. We took down all criteria stated by participants and now need to go through and ensure that these final MCA criteria can be utilised by the SMC team to differentiate between different design options.
The consolidation process will include removing duplicates and criteria that will not allow the design team to differentiate between design options. Criteria that is unable to be utilised within the design process will be incorporated in other areas such as in the community consultation process or carried over to the construction phase.
I would like to point out that the results currently available contain all the original material and vote counts from the workshop.”
